Dongzhi Festival

Learn to pronounce words associated with the Chinese Winter Solstice Festival

The Dōngzhì (冬至) or Winter Solstice Festival is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese and other East Asians on or around the 22nd of December each year.

Traditionally, Dongzhi is also a time for the family to get together. In our special pronunciation guide, learn some of the most common terms in Mandarin Chinese which are used around the time of the festival.
